Things I'm Thankful For In 2017

10 things I'm thankful for this year!

Though the year isn't over yet, I can say that so far it has been like a roller coaster. Compare to other years, this year has been one my best and worst. But no matter what happens, I like to think of everything is a learning experience and be thankful for some of them, here are ten things that I'm thankful for this year!

10. New York City

Living in the New York City has been one of my dreams, though I don't actually live in it, I am very thankful to live very close to it. Only a couple of minutes drive away, I am very thankful to be able to visit this city that brings me inspiration and energy as often as I want. This year, I have stayed and visited this city like crazy. Though in previous years I visited New York City pretty often too, this year I found myself being in it twice to three times a week. And sometimes even staying over for a couple of days. Hoping one day not too far away I'll be officially be living in this city, I like to call this city home even if is not official yet.

9. Starbucks

If you have been following me on my personal social media accounts, you should know that I spent a good amount of time in Starbucks. No, I do not work at Starbucks or work for Starbucks. I am very blessed from having a job that I can do from home, but working from home has its pros and cons. One of the cons is the fact that I'm at home! For me home is a place to relax and not to work. But since I don't have an actual office outside my house, I like to go to Starbucks, drink my favorite hot tea and catch up with work. This year, I have spent a lot of time at working at different Starbucks locations, besides from work, Starbucks has also be a great location to meet clients, catch up with friends and even just to be in. This might sound crazy, but I'm very thankful for Starbucks.

8. My iPhone & Car

Many people are nothing without their phones, and sadly I'm one of them. But don't worry, I'm not one of those who are checking their phone during dinner, or all the time. I do manage a lot of my business through my phone to the point that I can't live without it. One thing I have noticed in the last couple of years, is that I get myself updated every year. That might sound crazy to some people, but when your job relies on the latest technology and styles, is important to update. Because of that, I'm very thankful for this kind of life opportunity that I know not a lot of people have. Sides my phone, I also have the opportunity to have my own car. Since high school till my early years of college, I was relying on public transportation. Living in a place where everything is 30-45 minutes away by bus, things were a bit rough. Late last year, I was blessed with the purchased of a new car, which till this day, it has helped me reach places I have never been before and for that, I feel thankful and blessed.

7. My Closet

Yes, the rumors are right, I do own a lot of clothes. I don't remember exactly when my passion for clothes began, but I am very thankful to be able to express myself through something not many people get to do. When my family and I moved to a new house, I used to have a very small closet. Years went by, and I had to turned a whole room in my house into my closet because it was just too much of it. I do spring cleaning once a year and donate clothes, but even just collecting clothes through out the year, there's just not enough space. This might sound crazy, but I am very thankful and blessed to be able to turned something that I'm passionate about into something I can call work.

6. My Room

Just like I'm thankful to be able to have a lot of clothes, I am very thankful to be able to sleep in a comfortable bed, a warm room and a place I can call my own. Not too long ago, I volunteered to help deliver food to those in need in the town of East Harlem, NY. After talking to a couple of people I met and they sharing how many of them live crowed apartments, wishing to one day have their own room and place, it really got me thinking of how blessed I am to be able to have many of the things I have. Like having my own bedroom. That's why, I'm thankful to have redesigned my bedroom not too long ago, be able to purchased a new bed and sleep comfortably every night.

5. Javiortiz.com

Who knew something that started by mistake would've change my life forever. When I started Javiortiz.com, I didn't even know what I wanted to do with it or what I wanted to talk about but one thing I knew I wanted and that was to do it forever. Today, I feel blessed in not only calling it my hobby, but also one of my businesses. I don't care if I make a lot of money or none at all, I love sharing my ideas and some of my talents with you all and for that, I'm thankful for.

4. My First

There's a said that goes "There's a first time for everything". Mid last year, I had the chance to meet someone who change my life forever. I felt in love for the first time! Though we're not together anymore, I learned a lot about myself and also gave me inspiration and motivation to focus in those things that I always wanted to achieve and taking care of those things I care for. Like I mentioned before, everything is a learning experience, and this year, I'm thankful to have experienced the beauty of loving someone and careering for someone, even if is over.

3. My Friends

I have to be honest, when I was in high school, I had a lot of friends, so many, I didn't know any of them. Today, I have less than what I can count with one hand, but when I reach out to them for help, they're more than just a helping hand. Everyday, I get reminded why I love them and how important they are in my life. Being friends for years, I'm happy to become closer everyday with them, and even when times get hard, we always come back to one another & for that, I'm thankful for them.

2. My Family

I don't want to sound corny, but I have the best family ever! Everyone has their own family drama and etc, but one thing I'm very thankful that my family has, is not misjudging anyone. Most of my family have gone through a lot of shit, some by accident and some because they are stupid. But not matter what happens, we all love each other and support each other. This year, I went through a lot, both personal and business too, and I'm very thankful for the support they gave me.
