Dark Shadows

How bad and good are you?

Something I like to do every each season is to try to update and change my personal style. In the last couple of years, I've been trying to brighten up my style with colors, prints and etc for the summer season. But this season I decided to just go with the flow and also realized even the brighter seasons have its shadow days.

There has been a lot of things I have learned about myself within the last year and one of them is to listen to myself. Sometimes we say things to motivate others, we forget to listen to ourselves along the way. A phrase I use a lot to inspire others is to "work with what you have". Finally decided to listen to myself and instead of adding changes to my life or personal style this season,  I decided to work with what I have and by who I believe I am.

I am a happy, motivated, inspiring person, but I can also be a mean, rude and a controlling kind of person. I'm sure we all have a good and bad side of ourselves, but instead of me just trying to stick with one side of myself and try to cover my other one, it just didn't feel right to me. Don't get me wrong,  I don't think I'm the worst person in the world, but I'm not going to denied that I can be bad sometimes too. Knowing how good or bad I can be and accepting of who I am and what I can do have given me the possibility to open a lot of doors I never thought of. Another major life lesson I learn within the last year is to control myself and know when and where to use each side of myself and still staying truthful about who I am.

For this outfit look editorial, I was feeling the bad side of myself. Following my daily casual look, I decide to wear head-to-toe black. Even though we are on our warmest season, thanks to the fabric choice of these clothing items, it made this dark look feel fresh and summerly regardless of the color. While shopping around back in March, I came across this black shirt. Not only I find this shirt fun because of the white lined print on it, but also find it summer appropriate. This shirt is soft and silky and feels fresh and light when worn. For pants, I decided to keep it plain black to balance out the print of the shirt.

For shoes, I also kept it plain black by wearing these new Puma sneakers. Like I always say, you can't leave the house without a pair of sunglasses and even under shadowy days, the sun still brights. Wearing my favorite grey Hugo Boss sunglasses, they were the perfect choice for this outfit look. These sunglasses have been an outfit miracle to any outfit look I wear them with. They make any outfit look luxurious and fashionable in an instant.

We live in a world where anything can happen and change in seconds.  So why not be the best bad and good person you can be. Just remember to always stay true to yourself and express yourself in the best way possible. Hope everyone enjoyed this outfit look as much as we did in creating it. That's all for today and I'll be seeing you in my next post!
