Edgy SOHO

New classic edginess

Fashion changes day to day, but in the last couple of years, I have noticed a change in a very specific style category. Modernizing what I called a classic look used to be a bit hard, but thanks to latest trends, the classic look has gotten an edgy touch.

When it comes to fashion is all about the small details. For this editorial, I decided to go for an everyday classic look which normally consists of what some people called "plain items". But most of these items on this look aren't exactly plain.

Starting off with this black wool jacket. One thing I love about this jacket is the zipper along the sleeves. Not only they make life easier when it comes to rolling up the sleeves, but also gives this jacket quite an edgy feel to it. While looking at this jacket, my eyes can't move away from the buttons. Love how bright and shiny they look, but also how they make this jacket stand out in a very sophisticated way.

Continuing with this look, I wanted to go with something more contrast to this black jacket and what a better choice than a beige knitted sweater. I fell in love with this sweater at first because of how soft and fresh it feels when worn. Fell so much in love with it that I've been trying to find other sweaters like it in different colors but the search has been a bit hard. Not only this sweater feels soft and fresh when worn but also if you take a nice look at it,  you can tell this sweater kind of looks heavy. Believe me or not, thanks to its knitted structure can make this sweater look a bit heavy and thick, but in reality, this sweater is lightweight and thin. Because of the misunderstood structure of this sweater mix with this black jacket, gives this look a more edgy twist.

If you haven't noticed by now, for some reason I haven't been a big fan of wearing jeans and for that, I try to not to wear them as much as possible or not at all. I'm more of a fan of pants but when it comes to pants, there are a bit more of choices from colors, fabrics to even styles. For this look, I decided to go with these light beige pants which they were a great choice because it continues with the contrast color I already picked for this look but yet, still maintaining a noticeable difference to the beige sweater. Something about these pants has got me obsessed with them. Not only I like the color because it matches with a lot of different items but only the way they feel. Compare to regular pants, these ones feel a bit more relaxed and flexible and being a someone who moves around a lot, these pants are a great way to go.

For shoes, I would have to be honest, these Gucci slippers have put people in debate. I have not seen such a debate between people who like them and people who don't. But personally, I think they are a great change in fashion and especially in the formal dress code. Some may say they shouldn't be considered formal dress at all, but for me, they are semi-formal. Like any item, is all about how you wear it, not how it looks, and these shoes are another example of that. For this look, I decided to wear them because they do give a more formal look when they are looked from a front. But when turn on the side, they look fashionable and comfortable which gives a more edgy look to any outfit you wear it with.

Finishing this look, as usual, I can't leave the house without a pair of sunglasses and for this look, I wore these dark shade aviator sunglasses to coordinate the colors of this entire outfit look. Shot in the neighborhood of SOHO in New York City, this look was the not only classic, edgy but also a bit luxurious. Perfect for a fun shopping day in this luxurious neightborhood. That's all for today, and I'll see you all in my next post.
