Round-Two

Unexpected visit to San Juan, Puerto Rico

I'm a big believer that things happen for a reason, no matter the situation, there's always something to learn and to take away from it. And on my recent birthday vacation, a simple mistake led to an unexpected visit to Puerto Rico.

At the beginning of this year, I didn't make no new years resolutions or any detailed plans for the year. But I did ask for a couple of things, and recently I have learned to be careful what to ask for. I asked for dramatic changes in life and better memorable moments in places I love. And believe when I say, everything from the place I live, to even the plates of my car have change without me even trying.

On the last day of my recent birthday vacation to the - U.S Virgin Islands - unfortunately, end up missing my flight back home. On top of that, it was the only flight heading to my destination and the next flight available was the next day. Later on, I found out there was a flight leaving in a few minutes to Puerto Rico and also found out there was a connecting flight from Puerto Rico to my destination a few hours early than having to wait till the next day. Didn't think of it twice and booked the flights and headed to Puerto Rico for a few hours.

My head couldn't stop thinking of so many things during my flight to Puerto Rico. Not only was I super excited to be heading back to this beautiful island, but also shocked that I was heading back to a place where a lot of memories are stored.

Upon arriving in Puerto Rico, it was time to start the adventure. My friend and I headed straight to the exit of the airport and grabbed a taxi. The taxi driver was one of the nicest and welcoming drivers I have ever seen. When asked for food recommendations, he sure gave a lot of details about different places and even gave us recommendations of what to do during this short last minute visit. After grabbing brunch, it was time for some shopping. While shopping around, I found this nice navy blue t-shirt and also these nice striped pants. I couldn't help myself and decided to wear them right away. Continuing walking around the city of San Juan, I came across this particular block that looked really familiar. And of course, it was! I made an outfit look editorial right on this block during my last visit to Puerto Rico. I was speechless and also surprised to somehow end up right on this block again. It was obvious that I needed to do another editorial right on this block, not only to memorialize that particular moment but also to recreate a new one. After a few photos, we continue exploring the city of San Juan. Stopped at Castillo San Felipe Del Morro, played with water at El Totem and enjoyed a couple of coquitos before heading back to the airport.

Even to this day, I can only be thankful for this surprise life has been giving me. Not only I got to visit the U.S Virgin Islands but also got to visit this beautiful island of Puerto Rico once again. Like I mentioned before, I have to be careful what I ask for, but should I really stop? That's all for today and I'll be seeing you all on my next post!
