Fear Wears White | NYFW

New York Fashion Week: Day 3

For my last day of New York Fashion Week, I decided to keep it sophisticated and luxurious with a classic black and white outfit look. Tough it might have been my last day of this season of fashion week, these last few days have been very inspiring and motivational.

When I first saw this wonderful white coat a few months ago, I knew I needed to get my hands on it and wear it during fashion week. I might be wrong on this one, but I don't really see many guys wearing white coats and that gave me another reason to wear it.  Taking it back a few years ago, I remember this one night my friends and I decided to go out for the night and the weather got really cold out of nowhere. Being able to make a pit-stop at one of my friend's house before reaching our destination, I saw one of my friend's coats and asked her if I could borrow it for the night. She agreed and believe me, I rocked that coat so well, even other guys were asking me where I got it from. That was the moment I realized it doesn't matter if it was made for women or men, there are items that can be easily be worn by either party.

Since I wanted this coat to be my statement piece, I decided to keep it plain but yet fancy underneath. Wearing head-to-toe black by matching a knitted turtleneck sweater, black pants, black dress shoes and a pair of black sunglasses.

Though I had an eventful day full of shows and more interviews throughout the day. When the night arrived it was time to head to Patricia Field's birthday blast at Le Bain. It was a pleasure getting to meet her on such a special occasion as her birthday. At her birthday blast, I also had the pleasure to meet other people in the industry and share an amazing time. Not a bad way to end my last day of this season of New York Fashion Week.

Taking in review the last few days, I can say I have learned a lot more this season of fashion week than what I have in the last few seasons. There's a phrase that goes "You never know until you try" and that phrase couldn't be more perfect to describe my experience of this season of New York Fashion Week. I can say I finally decided to face my fears and take on a few new projects I have always been scared of starting. Besides that, I also got a reminder that is okay to be yourself at all times. The way you are is what makes you unique and sometimes is what can lead you to a path of success.
