Early Winter

December 2019

The winter season hasn't officially begun yet, but most of us can agree that winter often starts hitting us early each and every year. For this month's editorial, we have been inspired by the low and cold temperatures early winter brings us during this time of the year.

As you may have noticed, I haven't posted as much as I normally do in the last two months. Usually when I go missing for a long period of time without posting anything is because I'm working on content for Javiortiz.com but this time it was for different yet similar reasons. Back at the end of May of this year, I opened my new company called JV Studios. I decided to exclusively give all focus to my new company in the last two months to make adjustments which ended up giving me a break from Javiortiz.com.

Within that period of time of being focused on something else rather than Javiortiz.com, gave me the opportunity to not only realized how much I really missed it but also gave me the opportunity to also come up with new fresh ideas for future segments and posts. Since it is almost the end of the year, I have taken the sad decision to end a few of our current segments such as SWJV Looks, Inspiration Wall and Desing Shades. Even though we have been creating posts for these segments for many years now, we have decided to give them up to make more space for new content and projects we are currently working on for the new year ahead.

When we started thinking about this editorial, it was kind of hard to not keep in mind the festivities this month brings. But since we haven't technically cover anything for the fall and winter season, it felt right doing it now. For the first outfit, we brought out this cropped-jacket from Forever 21 and paired it with a black t-shirt, black pants, and boots for a head-to-toe black edgy style. For the second look, we wanted something a little more appropriate for the fall and we went with a classic grey puff vest. Paired with a burgundy long-sleeved shirt, beige pants, and ankle light brown ankle boots. These outfits are a quick representation of both the winter and fall season through our eyes and a quite a representation of what we like to call, early winter. We are happy to be back and excited to see what we have in store in the next few months.
