The Player

Life is full of games

We all have heard of the phrase "Life is full of surprises" but did you know life is full of games as well? And by life I mean sociality, let's not forget those two are different things but yet different by a very defined line. With that being said, let the games begin!

Currently living in the year 2020 and in the state of New York, thinking about my current life and what the future might hold has been a bit uncomfortable. The last few months have been both amazing and very sadden. We can all agree this year many of us have lost and gain things we never thought of losing or getting. Whether it has been people, things or experiences is always one or the other. This got me thinking, what is the outcome of playing the game of life?

Throughout my 25 years of life, I have to say I have lost and gained many things but for some reason, I'm usually looking for the next big win. Though I have never been a fan of gambling, in the world we live in today, really feels like we gamble more often than we think and without even trying. That's why I like to say life is a game. No matter what we do, we are always playing. If we are not playing our own game, we are playing someone else's. Maybe this is a harsh way to think of life but to be honest, for me it has been the easiest to understand. If you don't have control of your life, don't be expecting big wins.

Unfortunately, like any other kind of game, you don't always get the big win. I don't want to call it losing because, at the end of the day, it is still a win full of experiences and lessons that might set us for a different aspect of life or game. But we as humans don't like to lose and we forget to keep the focus of what is important, to enjoy it. So what's the outcome of playing the game of life? Make sure you play for the right reasons. Most of the time, we feel the pressure from life, society, and the world. But at the end of the day, make sure you play for yourself and for a better world.
